Crossing Borders Seoul Edition Ann Le, Heidi Cramer, Lindsey Allgood 이준아, Amanda Karlsson, Li Xiaoqiao Ramon Blanco, Rachel Marks, 서찬석, 문경의 박민우, Alejandro, VS Force, Vivian + EAS 2014.5.24 – 2014.6.1
Breaking free of confiements and limitations, and creating connections and dialogue across cultural divides, Crossing Borders is an exhibition showcasing the works of young emerging artists across the globe. The Seoul Showcase will be presenting works from emerging Korean artists along with selected works from the first open call juried exhibtion held in Sanfrancisco. It will be a continuation of the online dialogue held on the Emergent Art Space website.
The Seoul Showcase sought an alternative space rather than the typical white gallery walls to further emphasize the exhibition title Crossing Borders. Often times a gallery space will limit or preordain a particular event or project. As the exhibit hosts a myriad of artists and their art works, we aimed for a site that will encompass all barriers and allow the coexistence for such a wide array of works.
These young artists have created their own work and vision, and will continue to be lead critic of their environments. From drawings to video, sculpture, performance and graffiti, the ex-hibit will present a rare mix of artists who constantly push the boundaries.
We believe that we can think and talk about social issues through art. ‘Art Space GONG-gan TOU’ is a space as a medium to help the creative process.
